So I cooked.
Things you will need:
Frito chips. The small-ish ones.
1 lb hamburger meat.
Chili. No beans. I would hope you wouldn't contaminate your chili with beans in the first place.
I am not judging.
Diced onions.
Seasonings. You know I use the same ones no matter what I cook. White pepper, salt, garlic powder, Lawry's.
Shredded cheese. I used Colby Jack and Mexican blend.
Season meat. Brown, with the onions.
Place frito chips in baking pan.
Add chili, meat mixture, cheese.
Repeat into layers if you like, I just did the one layer.
Cover and bake on 350 for about 30 minutes.
Add a little sour cream. Just do it.
The leftovers are divine!!!!
I don't take pretty food pictures, but here ya go:

DUDE! You're supposed to season the meat with taco seasoning!!! What is this lawry's/white pepper crap?? No wonder you didn't think it tasted like taco soup! You killed it! I demand you remake this next week with the appropriate seasonings and then edit this post to admit it was so much tastier the right way!
I forgot I had bought the taco seasoning, and used my mixture instead. I will try it with taco seasonign and possibly revise it.
